Shock news!!!

Regular readers of this rambling record may recall a post on the 29th of September regarding romance etc.  Matters have progressed a little on this front.  Yesterday I got down on one knee (it being the Feast of the deid Bishop who bits are kept in a church in the Gorbals) and she was daft enough to say Yes!  So I am officially engaged and am much to my surprise a fiance.  :-)  Official visitations to the mother's-in-law in waiting will follow soon.  It's been a hell of a holiday so far!  I mean, I go on annual leave, Cowden lose to the Pars and now this!  And I'm off until March 3rd.  I'll probably invade Russia next week at this rate!

  1. Congratulations, young man! Commiserations to the brave young lady who said "yes." St. Mungo pray for her.

You do realise this means you will never become pope now?

  3. Don't commiserate too much MP - she is the great times umpteenth Grand daughter of Edward Longshanks (on the wrong side of the blanket)! so hammering the Scots into shape is her gentic predisposition:-)

  4. hammering the Scots into shape is her generic predisposition:-)

Oh, my innocent, young friend, hammering men into shape, full stop, is a female generic predisposition. Fortunately they have a lot of nice generic predispositions that make putting up with this well worth it.

  5. Actually, MP St Mungo is the patron of the Weegies. Perhaps the intercession of St Margaret who lived in Edinburgh and Dunfermline (where I live and where I was born)and who house trained the rude and barbarous Scot Malcolm Canmore would be more appropriate?:-)
